Just for dogs requires over £65,000 per year to fund the running of the centre, our main expenses being veterinary costs – although we remain grateful to our local veterinary practice Blenheim Veterinary Centre for continuing discounts and FOC services. Our other main expenses are heating and motoring expenses. We have, for the past 15 years, fed the dogs in our care their natural diet, which has seen our feeding expenses fall dramatically from over £4,000 per annum to under £500! Just for Dogs relies totally on voluntary donations and fund-raising.
As well as staging fundraising events at the kennels and Fun Dog Shows throughout Derbyshire in the summer months, Just For Dogs are always interested in new fundraising ideas and events. We are always looking for people to bake and sell cakes, help with street and store collections, organise or help to run a stall at our events, sell raffle tickets or to stage a fundraising event on our behalf.
Our dedicated voluntary events team are a small friendly team that help to organise and assist in the running of events here at JFD as well as collections and community events.
Be part of something great and help us to raise vital funds to save as many dogs as possible.
We understand that you may not always be able to attend our events but contact us and we can add your name to our contributors list and make something delicious for one of our sales
We are always in need of quality second-hand items and books in good condition to sell at our events.
Drop your donations at JFD Between 9-11am any morning.
If you have any clothes that are not good enough to be sold, they can be placed in our Rag-man bin. Please clearly mark a bag ‘RAGS’ and we will turn it into ‘pounds for hounds’
